New Delhi: Diego Maradona and Argentina will be looking to bounce back from their humiliating 6-1 thumping by Bolivia in their last World Cup qualifiers when they play host to Colombia on Saturday.
According to El Mundo Deportivo, the Albiceleste coach looks set to start the match at El Monumental with his strongest possible attacking line-up after he experimented with the trident of Lionel Messi, Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero in Wednesday’s training session.
The triple threat upfront will force Maradona to switch to a 3-4-3 formation with Cata Diaz, Martin Demichelis and Gabriel Heinze holding down the fort at the back, while Fernando Gago, Javier Mascherano, Jonas Gutierrez and Juan Veron occupy the midfield line.
This line-up, if implemented come kick-off, will force veteran, Javier Zanetti onto the bench, although it is expected that he will return to the starting berth in the next qualifier on Wednesday June 10 against Ecuador.
One of the surprise inclusions for Saturday’s clash could be Estudiantes’ uncapped goalkeeper, Mariano Andujar.
