New Delhi: Since the end of the January transfer window, the EPL season has given us a near-excruciating supply of drama. In the past few weeks, these heroes have stepped up and put in fantastic performances that have changed fates and saved the season for their teams. Every year new stars are born. Here is the list of few players who have done wonders for their teams.
Robin Van Persie: Everyone knows the quality this Arsenal striker possesses, but did anyone expect him to score 16 league goals from January to May? Even in the Gunners' darkest hours, such as last week' defeat at the hands of Aston Villa, RVP's play in the closing half of the EPL season has been nothing short of phenomenal. You might even consider saying that Van Persie has been playing a little bit like Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, which exactly is what the Gunners need and if he can continue with the same form in next season he can help Arsenal to end their trophy draught.
Dirk Kuyt: In the controversial departure of striker Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard being ruled out of season with the injury, Liverpool surely lacked a leader who can drive the team forward. In the past nine matches, Kuyt has scored nine goals and contributed three assists to the Anfield cause. His hattrick against Manchester United will surely be remembered with Red faithfuls and Dirk Kuyt is all of a sudden the best player in a team that boasts the likes of Steven Gerrard. His hardwork and unselfish play has enabled Liverpool reach sixth in the league standings.
Javier Hernandez: For anyone not paying much attention to the day-to-day operations of Guadalajara's Chivas football club, Javier Hernandez is the revelation of the season. Chicharito first impressed the world at the 2010 World Cup, scoring two goals for Mexico and since arriving at Old Trafford, this young lad has scored 13 league goals and notched a couple of assists. Pele recently dubbed Chicharito as "the next Messi." Hernandez is a great out-and-out striker and his lethal pace and deadly finishing has already made him fan favourites with the Red Devils fans.
Rafael Van Der Vaart: The former Real Madrid play-maker can be seen as the bargain of the season. Since arriving at Tottenham Hotspur in September, the Dutchman has racked up 13 goal and nine assists. With inconsistent surrounding Tottenham strikers, Van Der Vaart has been a revelation. In addition to bringing goals and assists to this Spurs team, the Dutchman has brought a creative flair to the team. If Spurs want to finish in the top four next season, this man will surely be the key and Redknapp should try and build Spurs team around him. He is a real asset to the team and Tottenham should hold on to him.
Luis Suarez: This man has been outstanding for Liverpool since arriving from Ajax in January. He has been lively on the pitch for the Reds and has assisted with some crucial goals and has found back of the net time to time. He is still asjusting to the English life and once he settles in he can surely go on to become a Liverpool legend in the next four to five years. Suarez scored 49 goals across all competitions for Ajax last season and was superb for Uruguay in the World Cup finals. His performnaces cannot be seen as a fluke and the lad is amazing and should be playing as well as he has. He can play in either flanks and as a forward and so Kenny Danglish wil be hoping that he finds the form from the beginning of the new season as well.
Charlie Adam: Charlie Adam is the player around whom the Blackpool game has revolved around during this campaign. Adam signed over to Blackpool in the summer of 2009 for a fee of 500,000 pounds. He helped Blackpool gain promotion with impressive performances in the Championship. Adam has more than proved his worth to the Blackpool faithfuls and EPL fans the world over during the team's campaign. He has 11 goals and nine assists on the season, and has displayed a workman-like dedication.
