UP Board Exams 2024: Unfair Practices At 6 Centres Caught On CCTV

The unfair practices were caught on cameras at 1 examination centre each in Etawah and Aligarh and two in Agra and Prayagraj.

The Uttar Pradesh Classes 10 and 12 board exams are going on with much strictness and vigilance across the state. The administration has introduced many steps for the strict monitoring of the exam centres like ID cards with barcodes, CCTV camera installation, etc. Many suspicious activities in the examination centres were detected on these CCTV Cameras. According to reports, these activities were detected at the six examination centres in Uttar Pradesh.

Now, the administrators of these centres can face disciplinary action for being unable to control these malpractices. These suspicious activities were caught on cameras at 1 examination centre each in Etawah and Aligarh and two in Agra and Prayagraj. A command and control room has been constructed in the UP Board headquarters. In this control room, the CCTV cameras installed at the examination centres are monitored.

A show cause notice has been issued by the UP Board to the administrators at these centres. Also, the administrators have been asked to reply to these show-cause notices within two days. The Board has enlisted the consequences in case the administrators are not able to give a satisfactory reply to these notices.

According to the board, in this case, the examination centres have been warned of getting debarred or blacklisted. This warning has also been implemented in an institution named Maa Chandrawali Ramjilal (MCR) Inter College, Agra. In the college, a Class 12th student escaped with the answer sheet in the middle of the exam. This happened in the second shift of the examination which happened on March 2. The administrator at the exam centre took no legal action against the student. Instead, the administrator tried to suppress this incident.

UP Board Secretary Dibya Kant Shukla said that many strict measures have been taken to stop the fraudulent practices in the UP Board examinations. These measures include the deployment of the Special Task Force (STF) to curb cheating during exams. Control Room is active 24 hours and anybody can file a complaint regarding cheating in an exam there. As per reports, the officials have also discussed the strategy to conduct a fair and cheating-free examination.
