NEET UG 2024: The decision to reopen the application correction window comes after the NTA identified discrepancies in the photographs uploaded by certain candidates during the registration process

The correction window for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2024 applications has been re-opened on April 25 by the National Testing Agency (NTA). This decision comes after the NTA identified discrepancies in the photographs uploaded by certain candidates during the application process, possibly leading to the withholding of their admit cards. Hence, candidates have to visit the NTA website, which is, exams.nta.ac.in/NEET, to make changes only in the field of photographs.

It is important to note that candidates are allowed to make the corrections in photographs by today, April 26, 2024 (up to 11:59 PM). No corrections shall be entertained thereafter. Students are advised to update their correct photograph during the photo update window to ensure the timely issuance of their admit card.

The official notification by the National Testing Agency read, “Upon scrutiny of photographs uploaded by candidates during the registration for NEET UG 2024, it has been observed that the photos uploaded by some candidates are not as per the prescribed standard format or required specifications. The admit card of such candidates is likely to be withheld.”

“The candidates are requested to refer to the remark’s column of their advance city intimation slip,” NTA added.

Meanwhile, NEET UG 2024 will be held on May 5 in 544 exam cities in India and 14 cities abroad. The exam will be administered in a single shift from 2 PM to 5:20 PM in a pen-and-paper format. The exam will be offered in thirteen languages: English, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Malayalam, Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Assamese, Oriya, Kannada, and Urdu.

It is further to be noted by the candidates that the National Testing Agency (NTA) has changed the tie-breaking procedure this year. The procedure specified by the exam conducting body will prioritise aspirants based on their marks or percentile scores in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology respectively. Students will then be ranked based on the proportion of correct and incorrect answers in all subjects.
