Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has released the intermediate results in which Rahul Bhuinya, a student of St. Ignatius High School Gumla from Commerce stream, has secured the second position in the district by scoring 443 marks out of 500. Rahul has achieved excellent marks across various subjects: 86 in English, 95 in Accountancy, 84 in Business Studies, 96 in Business Mathematics and 82 in Economics. His success has brought immense joy not only to his family but also to the Bhuinya community as a whole.
Rahul’s father is employed as a labourer and Rahul contributes to meeting his educational expenses by selling newspapers. They reside with their family in Sarna Toli, located in the district headquarters. Rahul initially received his primary education from Sandhya Rani Oxford School in Gumla.
He later completed his high school education at Star DPS Gumla, where he achieved an impressive 85 per cent in his 10th-grade exams, securing the position of the second topper in the school. In his most recent achievement, Rahul attained the position of the second topper in the district by scoring 88.6 per cent marks in the Commerce stream.
Rahul Bhuinya, who financed his education, revealed to Local 18 that his father works as a labourer in the Chainpur block, approximately 55 km away from the Brij Bhuyan district headquarters. His mother, Noori Devi, is a homemaker. Due to their challenging financial situation, Rahul wakes up at 4 AM to distribute newspapers door-to-door. This endeavour allows him to cover his school fees, tuition expenses, and study-related costs.
Rahul aims to uplift his family from poverty and attributes his achievements to the unwavering support of his parents. He said he has seen his father carrying sacks of potatoes and onions and he wants better living conditions for themselves, which he believes he can attain through higher studies. He aims to become a Chartered Accountant after doing a B.Com course.
