The Union Public Service Commission recently announced the results of the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2023 results. As soon as the results were declared the village of Ichhapur, Madhya Pradesh was filled with joy. A 24-year-old boy from the village cracked the toughest exam in the country. The boy lived in a two-room house with an asbestos roof. But despite all his struggles, he focused on his studies and successfully cracked the exam. Today, he is an inspiration for the students and aspirants of his village.
Nilesh Ahirwar has secured a rank of 916 in the civil service examination. Talking about his parents he said that his father Ramdas worked as a mason in the village while his mother was a homemaker. Nilesh belonged to a poor family in Madhya Pradesh. With very limited resources available, Nilesh passed the examination.
From childhood, Nilesh was an ordinary student. He started his education at a local primary school in his village and studied there till Class 8. In class 9, he was admitted to Model Higher Secondary School, Tawa Nagar. After the completion of his intermediate studies, he pursued B.Tech in Agriculture from Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwavidyalaya, Chitrakoot.
After completing his B.tech studies, Nilesh returned to his village and started taking the preparation of the UPSC exam. He mentioned that since he and his family stayed in a two-room house it was tough for him to concentrate. To solve the problem he turned the kitchen into a temporary study area. Despite the intense heat, he remained dedicated to his studies.
Despite his hard work, he failed to clear the UPSC preliminary examination in the years 2021 and 2022. After two consecutive failures, Nilesh decided to move to Bhopal to take coaching for better preparation. For the Mains examination, he shifted to Delhi. He stayed for three months and dedicated all his time to his preparation. His efforts paid off as he cracked the examination in the third attempt with a rank of 916.
