The second semi-final fixture between Pakistan and Australia in the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2024, hosted by South Africa turned out to be one of those nail-biting fixtures which went down to the very final over of the match.
However, Pakistan who managed to claw their way back in the game by taking the game deep into the final over of the second innings, suffered a massive heartbreak as Australia’s Raf MacMillan managed to get the edge as the ball went rolling away for a boundary towards the fine-leg region.

Saad Baig has led the young Pakistan team brilliantly. His side has been dominant right through the group stages like their counterparts in India. However, the Pakistan side came up short in the semi-finals facing a tough loss to the young Australian side.
Anyway, hats off to Saad Baig for the way he led the team and again, as usual, only our bowlers were sensational throughout the tournament. Chin up, guys ❤️#PAKvsAUS #U19WorldCup pic.twitter.com/dEUEgHInWF— Hassan (@HassanAbbasian) February 8, 2024
For those who might not recall, it was Australia that managed to defeat Pakistan to win their first T20 World Cup which took place in 2021 at the United Arab Emirates. The only difference is that the match did go down to the final over.
