Irfan Pathan was certainly not pleased with the miscommunication which led to his run-out but he was also quick to show some love to his elder brother following the World Championship of Legends match against South Africa.

Emotions were on full display as the Pathan brothers, who were part of the India Champions in the World Championship of Legends tournament were seen lashing out at each other after a mixup which cost them the wicket of Irfan Pathan at the County Ground in Northampton on Wednesday.

The two had built a steady partnership but were facing a loss against the South Africa Champions side with the Indian team needing 78 runs in the final two overs of the game.

Irfan in an attempt to save face played a shot of Dale Steyn’s delivery towards the covers. But the fielder who was present Dane Vilas managed to throw the ball back to the bowler’s end where Steyn enforced the run-out.

Looking at the replays, Irfan who made his way to the non-striker’s end looked to come back for the second run but Yusuf Pathan was also not communicating to his brother that he did not want the second run, which caused further confusion.

Irfan was not pleased with the dismissal and both the brothers were seen yelling at each other, some of which were caught on the stump mic but it is not clear the details of what was being said.

Following the innings, the emotions seemed to have cooled off as Irfan went out and embraced his elder brother and kissed him on the forehead, showing that they had made up after the fumble earlier.

Yusuf managed to close out the innings with a valiant 54 runs but India managed to lose the game by also 54 runs. However, they have ensured that they will make their way to the semi-finals where they will take on the Australia Champions on July 12.

South Africa Champions on the other hand will end their campaign with the win over India as they were unable to qualify. The second semi-final will be the Pakistan Champions against the West Indies Champion.
