ICC had the perfect response to Virat Kohli’s ball-searching adventure during the India versus Bangladesh clash last week. The Rohit Sharma-led side squared off against their Asian counterparts at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium on June 22. It was a high-octane Super Eight fixture in Antigua. During the second half of that match, Kohli left fans rolling on the floor as he went searching for a ball that had gone beyond the boundary ropes and slipped underneath a platform. Reacting to his antics, ICC shared a video of the chucklesome sequence on Instagram. In the post’s caption, they wrote, “Just Virat Kohli things”.

The post attracted several reactions from fans, sending some on a trip down memory lane. One of them said, “In childhood, we search for the ball like this under the car”.

Another agreed and wrote, “It’s just like the way, we in our childhood used to search for the lost balls under the vehicles and other objects while playing street cricket.”

One added that the star cricketer truly enjoyed the sport. “He enjoys the game so much and it shows,” she wrote.

Another jokingly said, “Kohli goes down the ground, Kohli goes out of the ground.”

“He remembered his childhood cricket days,” wrote one more.

This hilarious event occurred in the 17th over of Bangladesh’s chase of 197 runs at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. Arshdeep Singh was on bowling duty as he faced Bangladesh’s Rishad Hossain. The Bangladesh all-rounder smashed the final delivery of that over deep-mid-wicket for a six. The ball went over the LED advertisements and under the platform. Moments later, Virat Kohli was seen entering the thin platform. The Indian star put his torso inside and successfully recovered the ball.

As for the game, India were guided to a 197-run total while batting first, courtesy of a couple of impactful knocks from Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya. Kohli notched 37 runs for the Men in Blue before Pandya added a quickfire 27-ball 50. In the second innings, Kuldeep Yadav stepped up with the ball for India to dismiss three Bangladesh batters. Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah scalped two wickets each to keep Bangladesh 50 runs short.

India are now set to face Australia at the Beausejour Stadium today, June 24. A win against Australia will certify the Men in Blue’s place in the semi-finals of the tournament. As for the Aussies, it will be a must-win game in Saint Lucia to remain alive in the competition.
