NEP vs CAN, 2nd ODI: Anil Sah Creates History, Scores The Fastest Fifty in ODIs for Nepal
Nepal opener Anil Sah took to the Canadians out the gate to set the pace for his team's chase, smashing a fabulous fifty in just 19 mere deliveries.

History was made at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur as Nepal batter Anil Sah notched up a trailblazing innings for the ages for his side, scoring the fastest ODI fifty in Nepal Cricket history.

In the second ODI of the ongoing bilateral series against Canada and Nepal, Chasing a total of 286 set by the visitors Canada, Nepal opener Anil Sah took to the Canadians out the gate to set the pace for his team’s chase, smashing a fabulous fifty in just 19 mere deliveries.

Sah’s fiery innings was peppered with big shots galore, slashing his way to 7 fours and clearing the boundary for 3 sixes.

Sah got to his landmark with a whopping six off Canada’s Ishwarjot Sohi, who then bowled a peach of a delivery with the very next ball to dismiss the dangerman for an LBW.

Canada are currently touring Nepal for a three-match ODI series, and trail 1-0 to the hosts.

The first ODI ended in an absolute nail-biter with Canada needed just a mere 8 runs to win the game with 14 balls to go and one wicket to spare.

Nepal skipper Rohit Paudel, who was the Player of the Match, then clinched the clutch win for his side, bowling out Ishwarjot Sohi for his fourth wicket of the match. Despite the spirited fight from the Canadians, which was fueled by fifties from batters Nicholas Kirton and Pargat Singh, it was ultimately the hosts who won the battle by 7 runs.

Now, with the series on the line, Canada won the toss and elected to bat first in hopes of setting a challenging total.

And that they did, with the help of timely innings from the likes of openers Aaron Johnson, Navneet Dhaliwal and wicketkeeper Shreyas Movva, setting up a commendable total of 285 runs.

But, powered by Anil Sah’s innings, and subsequent fifties from batters Dev Khanal and skipper Rohit Paudel, Nepal are set to pose a tough fight for the visitors as they look to seal the deal and clinch the series with a win today.
