History Made! India Equals Pakistan's Monumental World Record in Dominant Win Over Bangladesh in First T20I

India can’t stop, won’t stop dominating in the shorter format, as the Men in Blue equalled a wondrous world record with their win against Bangladesh in the first T20I, mirroring Pakistan’s record to become the team with the joint-most all-outs enforced on Sunday.

The reigning T20 World Cup champions were out for blood, as the Indian bowlers started off fiery-hot, running amok through the Bangladesh batters who struggled to notch runs from the get-go.

Arshdeep Singh blitzed through the visitors with his tremendous pace, as he scalped both Bangladesh openers in no time, removing Parvez Hossain Emon and Litton Das within the first two overs of his spell.

He was then aided by the returning Varun Chakravarthy, who wove a magical spell of 3-31 himself, before Arshdeep finished off Bangladesh for a mere 127 by scalping Mustafizur.

India Equals Pakistan’s World Record

With their successful bowl-out of the Bangladesh batters, India equalled a spectacular world record of Pakistan’s, to become the team with the joint-most all-outs enforced in T20Is.

Both India and Pakistan have bowled out their opposition a staggering 42 times in their T20I history.

India’s Fiery Onslaught With The Bat

Following their sensational outing with the ball, all that was left was for the batters to help the team get over the hump.

India came out guns blazing, as Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson went on the attack to pile on the early runs for India.

Bangladesh would find respite with the help fo Meihidy Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman, who would chip in with a wicket each to slow India down.

But, a stunning batting show from Hardik Pandya would follow to help India cross the finish line.

Pandya showcased his class in his finishing abilities as he scored three consecutive boundaries in the 12th over to finish off the game in style. He started with a ridiculous no-look shot off Taskin Ahmed where he just ramped one away over the wicketkeeper’s head.

This was then followed by a powerful pull-shot where his bat flung out of his hand but still managed to get enough connection to see the full-toss being smacked away for a boundary towards the backwards-point region.

The T20 World Cup-winning all-rounder finished off the game with a powerful pull-shot over the mid-wicket boundary ropes to seal the win for India who went 1-0 up in the three-match affair.
