Siva To Nattukku Oru Nallavan, 5 Rajinikanth Films That Failed At The Box Office
Rajnikanth has delivered some of the best films in India, but there are certain films of his that failed to perform well at the box office.

Rajinikanth has been ruling the Tamil film industry since the 1970s. He has prominently worked in the Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Hollywood film industries. He is an actor, writer, and producer known for his notable films like Sivaji, Kabali and Baasha. Rajinikanth started his career in 1975 with the film Katha Sangama. Though he has delivered some of the best films in India, there are certain films of his that failed to perform well at the box office. Today, let us take a look at some Rajinikanth films that could not impress the audience.

Siva: Released in 1989, it is a classic Tamil film directed by Amirjan. The film also stars Raghuvaran, Janagaraj, and Shobana in the lead roles. The story revolved around two childhood friends, whose family had seen tragic deaths. How they overcome the challenging situations together forms the theme of the film. Siva failed to create an impact on the audience, and thus the makers had to face a huge loss.

Nattukku Oru Nallavan: The film was directed by Ravichandran and released in 1991. It also starred Babu Antony, Juhi Chawla, and Jai Ganesh in the lead roles. The story revolves around an orphanage that carries out trafficking with the help of an evil man. The film failed to perform at the box office in both the Hindi and Tamil industries.

Naan Adimai ILLai: The film was released in 1986 and was directed by BS Dwarakish. It also starred Aachi Manorama and Sridevi in the lead roles. It was a remake of the Hindi film Pyar Jhukta Nahin, but Rajinikanth’s film couldn’t perform well at the box office.

Valli: The film was released in 1993 and was directed by K Nataraj. It starred Dilip and Priya Raman in the lead roles, and the story revolved around the love story between a literate and an illiterate person. The film didn’t perform well, and Rajinikanth faced a huge financial crisis over this film.

Kuselan: The film was released in 2008 and was directed by P Vasu. It also starred Meena and Pasupathy in the lead roles. The story revolves around two friends. One of them becomes a famous actor and the other ends up as a barber. How their friendship is affected forms the story of the film. Kuselan couldn’t leave a mark on the audience and was another failure in Rajinikanth’s career.

After two years of hiatus, Rajinikanth made a comeback to the silver screen with the film Jailer recently. The film was released worldwide on August 10 and made an impressive collection at the box office. The audience and the critics showered love for the film, and it almost collected Rs 48.35 crore on its opening day. Jailer is still running successfully at the box office and is expected to touch Rs 600 crore worldwide.
