TCS talent transformation project has hired 500 Bachelors of Science (BScs) from over 50 colleges all over the country.

New Delhi: Software major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has said that it will draw science graduates from various colleges and train them to bring them at par with the engineering bachelors.

TCS talent transformation project has hired 500 Bachelors of Science (BScs) from over 50 colleges all over the country and has arranged for a seven-month training, encompassing science and software education to all the students.

Furthermore, TCS plans to add 2,000 more graduates by the end of next fiscal year.

The company accredited 350 colleges this year to establish quality standards for potential talent pool.

"The talent generation and absorption is so intense and it has to be ensured that right quality of human capital is being produced," TCS CEO S Ramadorai said on Friday.

The company has the best retention rates of over 90 per cent, Ramadorai said, adding that this intiative would surely broaden the future talent base in the country. A total of 1,500 students have been hired from smaller towns and 7,300 from mid-size towns. TCS will also go in for colleges in search of MCAs, BSc and MSc (Matehmatics).

TCS would be conducting internships, workshops, online SW engineering course for students to bridge the campus-corporate gap and would also arrange faculty developement programmes.

These graduates would be given opportunity to upgrade their professional skills with an opportunity to go for higher studies. All the students would join the company in the entry level as developers. However, salary payable to the graduates will differ from the technical students.
