Mumbai: The market saw steep fall in late trade with the Sensex losing 244.75 points to 28799.69 and the Nifty declining 83.80 points to 8750.20.
Even the broader markets snapped 10-day winning streak, falling more than half a per cent. About 1376 shares have advanced, 1492 shares declined, and 151 shares are unchanged on the BSE.
Shares of Tata Motors, Sun Pharma, Axis Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra, BHEL, Hero Motocorp, Wipro and Bharti Airtel plunged 2-4 percent. However, ITC, SBI, ONGC and Sesa Sterlite bucked the trend, rising 1-2.5 per cent.
