Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 17th instalment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi benefits to beneficiary farmers on June 18. Every eligible farmer has received Rs 2000 from the government as a part of this PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, introduced in February 2019. The government has transferred over Rs 20,000 crore into the bank accounts of more than 9.6 crore farmers.
A central government scheme, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is funded solely by the Government of India. The funds are directly transferred to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts. The scheme was introduced in 2019 to offer financial assistance to small and marginal farmers (SMFs). The beneficiaries receive Rs 6,000 annually in three equal instalments under this scheme.
Under the scheme, beneficiaries whose names are uploaded on the PM Kisan portal by the concerned state or Union Territory governments in a particular 4-monthly period are eligible to receive the benefit.
However, if a beneficiary’s name is on the list and they still have not received the amount in their accounts, they can raise a complaint.
How do I register a complaint if the name is on the list?
If an eligible farmer has not received Rs 2,000 instalment under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, a complaint can be raised with the PM Kisan Helpdesk. An eligible farmer will be able to file a complaint from Monday to Friday. They can also register their grievances by sending an email.
