Chandan was introduced through a song titled Anuragava Kalisalu in which he played the young version of Darshan’s character in the film.

Darshan-starrer Kaatera has not only captivated audiences but also broken records. Directed by Tharun Sudhir, the movie features Darshan, Jagapathi Babu, and Aradhana Ram in leading roles, with Vaijanath Biradar, Shruti, and Kumar Govind in supporting roles. The overwhelming response from audiences has turned the film into a sensation, drawing thousands to cinemas to experience the actor’s performance on the big screen. However, Kaatera is making headlines not just for Darshan’s acting prowess but also for another reason.

Chandan, Darshan’s nephew, made his debut in the Kannada film industry through the movie. His introduction occurred in a song titled Anuragava Kalisalu, where he portrayed the young version of Darshan’s character. The song beautifully depicts the romantic journey between the characters played by Darshan and Aradhana Ram during their teenage years. The lyrics were penned by director Yogaraj Bhatt, and Vani Harikrishna, the wife of music director V. Harikrishna, lent her melodious voice to the song.

Produced by Rockline Venkatesh, Kaatera belongs to the action drama genre and is exclusively released in Kannada. Despite its limited target audience, the film’s booking surpassed Rs 1 crore, showcasing Darshan’s immense popularity.

Chandan’s surprise entry has added an extra layer of anticipation to the film, leaving audiences curious about his future projects. The unique approach of introducing new talent in a song sequence has generated buzz and heightened the film’s appeal.

On the first day of release, people attended midnight and 5 am shows, indicating the fervour surrounding the film. Theatres, hosting 6 to 7 shows each, reported sold-out screenings, reflecting the heightened demand. Rockline Venkatesh highlighted the film’s exceptional demand, with requests to showcase Kaatera in every district of Karnataka. The film is initially scheduled for release on over 550 screens, a number expected to rise due to the overwhelming demand.

Kaatera promises to be a milestone in Darshan’s career and has successfully created a buzz in the industry, not only for its star cast but also for the introduction of fresh talent, making it a noteworthy addition to Kannada cinema.
