MG Srinivas-directorial film Ghost received a positive response from the audience at the box office. Starring Shiva Rajkumar, Jayaram, Archana Jois, and Anupam Kher in lead roles, the film was released on November 19. According to Sancnilk, the film has garnered Rs 5 crore at the box office. Now, Srini has announced his upcoming projects in an interview. As per reports, first on the line is Birbal 2, where he will reprise his well-received role of Mahesh Das from Birbal — a sharp and astute advocate. As per a report by OTTplay, Srinivas also has Ghost 2, the sequel of Ghost which will take the story forward. Another prequel of Ghost, focusing on the character of Dalavayi (gangster played by Shiva Rajkumar) may also be in the pipeline.
Alongside this, Srini is working on a children’s movie. Srini reveals that this film will be based on a highly popular Japanese novel. As the Ghost and Birbal projects are in the works, Srini is all set to collaborate with Geetha Pictures for the adaptation of the mentioned novel. Production for this project is scheduled to commence sometime next year.
Regarding the commencement of his upcoming projects, Srini tentatively expressed plans to conclude Birbal 2 before starting working on the untitled Geetha productions film. He stated, “The plan is to begin the Geetha Pictures project during the post-production phase of Birbal 2, with the primary focus on completing the scripts for both films.”
Srini officially confirmed that Shivanna’s character in Ghost will be spotted in the upcoming Birbal film. But he mentioned that he is currently unable to disclose the details about the character at this time.
Ghost 2, a sequel currently in the planning stages, will pick up from where Ghost concluded, addressing several loose ends from the first instalment.
Srini is also known for directing films like Ambuja and Kelavu Dinagala Nanthara.
