The homegrown carmaker, Mahindra and Mahindra stunned everyone in India with its announcement to join the much touted Formula E as a constructor. The electric equivalent of Formula 1, Formula E is seen by many as the future of motorsports.

Mahindra, being a prominent player in the ePrix series, is enjoying a lot of attention these days. After winning two podium finishes this season, Mahindra Racing scored a double-podium at the recently concluded 7th leg of Berlin ePrix.
While Mahindra’s Felix Rosenqvist secured the first-ever win for the team, its second driver Nick Heidfeld finished third to give the team a dream weekend. As it happens, there are two races scheduled during the weekend at the Berlin ePrix – the 7th and the 8th leg.
While the 7th leg was a dream run for the team, Mahindra could only secure the second spot at the podium during the 8th leg, with Felix finishing the race at second after suffering a 10 second penalty. Nick, on the other hand, managed to finish 10th.
It could have been a double win for Felix and Mahindra had it not been for the penalty Felix attracted. He did manage to secure the pole in the qualifying, giving a hope for yet another win at the Berlin ePrix. Nevertheless, it was a superb weekend for Mahindra ePrix.

Current championship leader Sebastien Buemi won the 8th leg of the ePrix. Lucas di Grassi finished second in the 7th leg and 3rd in the 8th leg of the Berlin ePrix.
“It feels incredible," said Felix. “From the start of the day the car felt good, quick and consistent. I made a small error in Super Pole qualifying, otherwise we could have been on pole. We came here much more prepared [than when I was on pole in Marrakesh] and it’s a great compliment to the team. We have some fantastic people - I was waiting for this and finally it came."
Heidfeld said: “This is a really outstanding result for the team considering where we have come from. In the first car, I was struggling but in the second car I started to catch Lucas a little bit. For a while I thought it might be possible [to catch him] but in the end it wasn’t."
