Travellers rejoice as the Indian Railways is implementing changes to the Vande Bharat Express train route between Udaipur and Jaipur in Rajasthan.
Starting in September, the Vande Bharat train that runs from Udaipur to Jaipur via Chittorgarh, Ajmer and Kishangarh will be extended to operate till Agra Fort via Kota.
Currently, the train runs from Udaipur to Jaipur six times a week. However, as per the new changes, the train will reportedly run on the new Agra route three days a week i.e. Monday, Thursday and Saturday, while on the other days, it will operate on the same Udaipur-Jaipur route.
Change in Timings:
Owing to the changes, the train will have two different routes and train numbers. At present, the Vande Bharat train departs from Udaipur at 7:50 am and the arrival time at Jaipur station is 2:10 pm.
Starting from September 1, the train will depart 2 hours and 5 minutes earlier i.e. at 5:45 am and will reach Agra Fort via Kota at 2:30 pm (in 8 hours 45 minutes). The train will leave from Agra at 3 pm and return to Udaipur via Kota at 11:45 pm.
New Route:
Reportedly, on the Udaipur-Agra route, the Vande Bharat will make stops at select stations including Rana Pratap Nagar Station, Mavli Junction, Berach, Chanderiya, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Gangapur City, Bayana and Agra Fort. The train will run at a top speed of 160 km/h, connecting three cities in less time.
While on the Udaipur-Jaipur route, the train will continue to make stops at Rana Pratap Nagar, Mavli Junction, Chittaurgarh, Bhilwara, Bijainagar, Ajmer Junction, Kishangarh and finally Jaipur.
Fare Price:
A new fare list is being prepared for the new Udaipur-Agra route. Passengers could be able to book the tickets both offline and online.
Currently, the cost of travelling from Udaipur to Jaipur in the Vande Bharat train is Rs 1,330 for the AC Chair Car and Rs 2,350 for the executive chair car.
In other news, the Indian railways is also planning to launch sleeper versions of its Vande Bharat Express trains which will be built for long-distance travel and boast a speed of 200km/h.
