TVS Motor Company has announced its foray into the 125cc scooter segment with the launch of the TVS Ntorq 125. Designed for the youth, the TVS Ntorq 125 has been developed based on the TVS’ racing pedigree and comes with a CVTi-REVV 3 valve engine. The scooter also marks the launch of an exclusive technology platform – TVS SmartXonnect – making it India’s first connected scooter.
On the design front, the TVS Ntorq 125 takes inspiration from the design of a stealth aircraft. It gets sharp LED tail lamps, aggressively styled headlamp cluster with Daytime Runnings Lights (DRL), sporty stub muffler, textured floorboard and diamond cut alloy wheels.
The TVS racing scooter team holds a winning record in the Indian Scooter Racing Championships for the past four years. Deriving from this racing pedigree, powering the Ntorq 125 is a 124.79cc single cylinder engine that pushes out 9.4 PS of power at 7500 RPM and 10.5 Nm of torque at 5500 RPM. The claimed top speed for this scooter by TVS is 95 km/h.
What’s new with the Ntorq 125 is the introduction of Bluetooth connectivity, which works in relation to a specific Ntoq mobile application that is available on the Google Play Store. It also has a fully-digital speedometer which. As per the company, boasts of 55 features including navigation assist, top speed recorder, in-built lap-timer, phone-battery strength display, last parked location assist, service reminder, trip meter and multi-ride statistic modes such as Street and Sport.
As for the features, the Ntorq gets tubeless tyres, telescopic suspension, pass-by switch, dual side steering lock, external fuel fill, USB charger and disc brake at the front.
The scooter has been launched in India at Rs 58,750 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
