BMW R 12 and R 12 nineT Launched in India, Price Starts at Rs 19.90 Lakh
The Built-up Units (CBU) now can be reserved or purchased from the company's authorised showrooms nationwide. The deliveries will kickstart from September 2024 onwards.

The performance-oriented bike maker BMW Motorrad has launched the all-new R 12 and R 12 nineT in India. The latest offerings from the brand have been released with a price tag of Rs 19.90 lakh and Rs 20.90 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.

The Built-up Units (CBU) now can be reserved or purchased from the company’s authorised showrooms nationwide. The deliveries will kickstart from September 2024 onwards.

BMW R 12 Design

Visually, it seems like the newly introduced BMW R 12 cruiser has taken some inspiration from the R 18 Transcontinental. It gets an impressive round-shaped LED headlamp setup, raised handlebars, and offers dual exhausts. For comfort, the company has offered a relaxed single-seat arrangement, which looks decent in size to accommodate rear passengers comfortably.

Suspension Setup

It gets a USD fork at the front with a 45 mm slider tube diameter. The rear section has been given monoshock.  The model comes with a stylish 19-inch wheel at the front, while the rear gets a small 16-inch. The model has received disc brakes at both ends.

BMW R 12 nineT

Talking about the retro-styled R 12 nineT, it has an aluminium tank, classic spoked wheels, clear-coated side panels, and dual exhausts that have been placed on one side. The model has been treated with a circular LED headlight unit and dual analogues. It also has a single-seating arrangement

Engine and Power

At the heart, both all-new R 12 models are powered by 1,170 cc an air/oil-cooled boxer engine, featuring  101 mm bore and 73 mm stroke. When it comes to power, The R 12 nineT generates a maximum output of  107 bhp at 7,000 rpm and a peak torque of 115 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The R12 offers a robust 93 bhp at  6,500 rpm and 110 Nm torque at 6,000 rpm.
