Japanese carmaker Toyota has recently rolled out its latest entrant Crown Signia SUV to its Crown line-up.
The new 2025 Crown Signia SUV is a hybrid-electric car and shares platform with the high-riding sedan, a slightly bigger RWD sedan and the Crown Sport SUV. This SUV is offered as an extension of the Crown sedan in the US market. Just like the new-gen Camry, the Crown SUV sources power from a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine.
In addition to that, the SUV that looks enticing is already on sale in Japan (called the Crown Estate) and will soon go on sale in North America. However, it is unlikely to be launched in the Indian automotive market.
2025 Toyota Crown Signia SUV: Design
The Crown Signia SUV gets a slightly inclined roofline and a sleek five-door crossover-like design that gives it a sporty look. From the front, the Crown Signia gets the same hammerhead nose styling that is previously seen on the Prius, Crown sedan, and the latest-gen Camry sedan. The front bumper is tall, and there are stylish headlamps, wraparound taillamps, and a unique grille design. The slim LED daytime running lights are placed above in a C-shaped pattern with a comparatively lower roofline and short overhangs, giving it a unique look and making it less estate-like.
2025 Toyota Crown Signia SUV: Interiors
Talking about the interiors, there is a 12.3-inch customizable digital display and another 12.3-inch screen on the dashboard for entertainment inside the cabin. The driver and passenger seats are 8-way electrically adjustable with just the push of a button. There’s a slot for wireless charging in the middle, and one can plug in three other things too. However, if you’re in the backseat, you get two charging plugs, two places for drinks, two vents for air, and pockets on the back of the seats. The Crown also provides you with the facility of warming up or cooling down seats as per your choice.
2025 Toyota Crown Signia SUV: Engine
Underneath the hood of the new Crown Signia sits the familiar hybrid powertrain found in the recently revealed new-gen Camry. It is a 2.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol-hybrid engine that will produce 243 bhp of power. Toyota will sell the Crown Signia in two styles: Limited and XLE. The Limited has 21-inch wheels and gets seats covered in leather with fancy stitching, while the XLE has smaller 19-inch wheels and seats made with fabric and SofTex that look cool.
Moreover, the car has three driving modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport. The Eco mode enhances the Crown’s battery range and fuel efficiency, while Sport mode boosts the throttle response.
The EV Mode allows the car to run solely on electricity, just like any other full hybrid vehicle, at low speeds for short distances. On the safety front, the Crown Signia gets Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which includes multiple ADAS features. It also gets multiple airbags as standard.
