IND vs ENG: Virender Sehwag’s OTT Inspired Meme for England Skipper Joe Root is Hilarious
Sehwag’s comments come after Root bagged his career best bowling figures in the pink-ball Test.

Even though the third Test between India and England ended in a win for the hosts in Ahmedabad, it didn’t take long for former Indian opener Virender Sehwag to address it in his inimitable style. Sehwag, known for his unique sense of humour and witty remarks on social media, praised England skipper Joe Root.

Sehwag’s comments come after Root bagged his career best bowling figures in the pink-ball Test. The England star batsman and part-time spinner emerged with his maiden five-wicket haul in the one-off day-night Test. Root, who earlier impressed everyone with his elegant batsmanship in Chennai, delivered the goods with the pink-ball in the third Test match on Thursday.

The English captain not only achieved his career best figures in bowling, but also bagged his maiden fifer against the hosts. His part-time spin bowling dismantled a formidable Indian batting line-up in their first innings.

Root's bowling masterclass seemed to have impressed the former Indian opener, who was quick to laud the English captain in his own style. Sehwag shared a hilarious Nawazuddin Siddiqui inspired meme to appreciate Root’s exploits with the pink ball. He captioned the photo on Instagram and wrote, "Indian batsmen facing Root today. Is Root ki sabhi lines vyast hain."

The former Indian batsman’s post on the photo-video sharing social platform soon went viral on social media circuits. It raked in over 1lakh likesand tons of comments from his fans and users.

Earlier, in the match, Root managed to rip through the Indian middle-order, which eventually led to their collapse as the hosts were all-out for 145 at Tea on day two. The England skipper came up with his career-best figures of five wickets from 6.2 overs, three maidens and eight runs. His effort was ably assisted by England’s left-arm orthodox Jack Leach who bagged four wickets, while giving away 54 runs from 20 overs.

However, the duo’s bowling efforts went in vain as England faltered in the second innings. They managed to score just 81 runs and set a paltry target of 49 runs, which the hosts comfortably scored in just 7.4 overs to seal a 10-wicket win.
