The latest episode of WWE SmackDown opened with Tiffany Stratton emphatically celebrating her Money in the Bank win. She also reminded the crowd that she was the youngest woman ever to secure the title. Her opening speech was interrupted by Bayey, who congratulated the newly crowned Miss Money in the Bank. When the duo was on stage, Nia Jax came out and engaged in trash talk with Bayley, referring to the upcoming WWE Women’s Championship match. A sudden fight unfolded as Stratton and Jax paired up to attack Bayley. That’s when Michin showed up with a kendo stick and broke it up.
The SmackDown show, aired on July 12, featured four matches including a WWE Tag Team title clash. Let’s take a look at them–
Nia Jax vs Michin:
Jax started on a commanding note and launched a splash to send her opponent into the corner of the ring. She also tried the guillotine but Michin countered it with a tornado DDT. The attack was of no use as Jax hit Michin with an elbow drop and followed it up with the Cobra Clutch. Michin went outside when Tiffany Stratton tried to interfere. Bayley settled the matter as Jax used the Annihilator to ultimately claim the victory.
Apollo Crews & Baron Corbin vs Legado Del Fantasma:
Crews took on Berto and the duo traded some strikes. Baron Corbin was tagged in early as Apollo set up a double-team move. Amid a fiery battle among the four men, Corbin sent Berto outside with a big dive. Garza was alone in the ring and received a Stinger Splash and a Military Press Drop from Apollo. Santo Escober then attacked Crews with a cheap shot while Angel dished out the Wing Clipper to win the match for Legando Del Fantasma.
Naomi vs Blair Davenport:
Naomi began the match with a split-legged moonsault but Blair Davenport recovered early and used a big stomp, smashing her opponent into the ringpost. Naomi set up another moonsault but this time, Davenport managed to block the attack. She then used a full Nelson Slam on Davenport to seal the deal.
WWE Tag Team Title match– DIY vs Austin Theory & Grayson Waller:
DIY took early control as Ciampa kicked out Waller from the ring. He then shifted his focus to Austin Theory to get the pin but Waller broke it up. The duo attempted the Meet in the Middle on Waller but ended up kicking each other. DIY read the situation well and used the Shatter Machine to finish the match and retain the Tag Team title.
