Legendary WWE wrestler Hulk Hogan has praised CM Punk. Since making his return to WWE late last year, Punk has been one of the promising performers. The 45-year-old returned to WWE after he left rival wrestling company All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Punk currently finds himself involved in a riveting storyline along with Drew McIntyre. Punk recently featured in a fight against McIntyre at the WWE Bash in Berlin and The Best in the World got the better of his opponent. While Speaking with Bill Apter for Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, Hogan was asked if he was a fan of Punk.
Responding to it, Hulk Hogan said, “Yes, I am. Big fan of CM Punk. I just really pray that he stays healthy. I’ve never had an opportunity to meet him. I guess I missed the boat on that one when I came back for one of the Raws. I was kind of out of my mind flying back from LA with Rob Van Dam, if you get what I’m saying. I basically spent my whole night just trying to get my act together before I went in front of the camera [laughs]. CM Punk apparently was there, and that was the only time I really had a chance to meet him. Big fan of his.”
Hulk Hogan went on to praise CM Punk pointing out that he is “very believable” and “speaks the truth”. Hogan said, “First off, he’s very believable. He’s very, very believable in the ring. He just seems real. He’s got that outlaw mentality. But the cool part about him is that he speaks the truth and he’s very opinionated and a lot of people agree with his opinion. It’s kind of like a lot of stuff that people are afraid to say, he’ll say it. He’s like a truth-teller. So he really has it figured out which is cool, which is why I’d really like him to stay healthy and not have any more accidents because I want to see this CM Punk last for years.”
Following his return to WWE, CM Punk had to deal with injury issues. The storyline, involving Drew McIntyre, has helped him in hogging the limelight once again. Punk was recently part of the WWE Bash in Berlin and he engaged in a strap fight against McIntyre. Punk exhibited clinical fighting prowess during the bout and succeeded in overpowering McIntyre.
