Brock Lesnar has not appeared in a WWE show since featuring in the last edition of SummerSlam. In his last official fight at the premium live event, the Beast Incarnate took on Cody Rhodes. It turned out to be an enthralling battle in Detroit where Rhodes had the last laugh by beating Lesnar via pinfall. Once the fight was over, an off-script moment saw both superstars shaking hands with each other in a respectful gesture.
Brock Lesnar was slated to make a comeback in the recently concluded Royal Rumble. That did not happen after the American wrestler got involved in a lawsuit. Last month, Janel Grant, an ex-employee who worked in the company’s legal and talent departments, filed a lawsuit, accusing Vincent McMahon of sexual trafficking.
According to a report by The Wall Street Journal, the employee claimed that Vince McMahon forced her to engage in sexual activities with other employees, executives and wrestlers. The WWE chief was also accused of coercing the woman to create personalised explicit content for a superstar, who was also deemed as a UFC fighter. Though no name was mentioned in the lawsuit, Brock Lesnar was identified as the man Janel Grant had referred to. After Lesnar signed a new contract with WWE in August 2021, Vince McMahon allegedly shared Grant’s personal contact number with him.
It remains unknown how Brock Lesnar has responded to the allegations. The incident, however, took a toll on his WWE career. He failed to secure a spot in the roster of Royal Rumble while also being removed from the cover of the WWE 2K24 video game as well as the company’s latest intro video.
