The British Royal Family has been “too gracious” to Prince Harry, former US President Donald Trump has said, while adding that he would not protect him like incumbent Joe Biden has done.
In an exclusive interview with Daily Express US in Washington, Trump said he was he prepared to wow thousands of conservatives from around America. “I wouldn’t protect him. He betrayed the Queen. That’s unforgivable. He would be on his own if it was down to me,” he said on Saturday.
The former President’s remarks came a day after the estranged UK Prince had appeared in US court over whether he had lied on his immigration papers about his drug use which he confessed to in his book “Spare.” Amid a legal battle initiated by the Heritage Foundation in the US federal capital, Prince Harry faces accusations of misleading information on his immigration papers, with support from Biden’s Department of Homeland Security.
The Washington think tank pressed in court for the US government to disclose Prince Harry’s immigration documents. This follows Duke’s admission in his memoir about his experimentation with cocaine, marijuana, and psychedelic mushrooms. However, a lawyer representing the Biden administration contested the challenge, arguing that the Prince’s written admission of drug use does not constitute definitive evidence of its occurrence.
This legal row unfolds against a backdrop of growing Republican discontent over perceived bias in the legal system against Trump. Expressing disapproval of Biden’s administration, Trump slammed their handling of the UK Prince’s immigration affairs, accusing him of betraying Queen Elizabeth II. Trump, known for his staunch support of the late Queen, has labeled his memoir as “horrible” and expressed surprise at his attendance at King Charles’s Coronation. Trump, speaking fondly of the late Queen upon her passing in 2022, praised her as a “grand and beautiful lady.”
