Have you ever come across Ballerina Farm online? The popular account is owned by Hannah Neeleman. She has been an influencer with millions of followers on social media for quite some time now. Recently, she has gained even more attention due to a news article by The Sunday Times. Hannah, 34, a mother of eight living on a 328-acre farm in Utah with her husband, Daniel Neeleman. She is popularly called the ‘trad-wife queen’. The trad-wife is a term often used for social media figures who endorse stereotypical roles of a wife, housewife and stay-at-home mother. The lifestyle she and her family promotes has also sparked a major backlash online.
Hannah, a former ballet student from New York’s prestigious Juilliard School, shares her life on the family’s Utah farm through Instagram, TikTok and YouTube under the handle Ballerina Farm. She manages various household chores, rears animals, homeschools and cares for her children: Henry, 12, Charles, 10, George, 9, Frances, 7, Lois, 5, Martha, 3, Mabel, 2 and baby Flora, 6 months.
Though Hannah is a stay-at-home mom, the massive social media presence of Ballerina Farm has turned their simple lifestyle into a profitable brand, reports US Weekly. They sell meat boxes from their farm-raised cattle and other branded products like sourdough starters, beeswax candles and rock salt. Hannah’s husband, Daniel, is heir to the JetBlue airline.
Here are a few glimpses of her life:
In the original The Sunday Times article, journalist Megan Agnew spent a day on the farm but had difficulty speaking with Hannah alone, as Daniel reportedly intervened during the conversation.
“When I asked her about how she felt about the anger of other mothers, who said she only showed the good parts of motherhood rather than the struggles, she was bright and sweet in her response. “I feel like there’s so much joy in making a beautiful meal for your family, it’s very satisfying, especially when you have had some part in growing or sourcing the food that you have a connection to,” she told me. “And hopefully I’m inspiring women to do that,” read the article.
Hannah also recently made headlines when her husband, Daniel, gifted her an egg apron for her birthday, documented in a viral video.

Journalist Agnew was also surprised to find that Hannah has no external help with childcare despite having eight children. While Daniel is involved in parenting, Hannah is the primary caregiver and homemaker. Remarkably, she even participates in beauty pageants, looking impeccable despite her exhausting daily responsibilities.
The main issue troubling people is the apparent contradictions in the Neeleman’s lifestyle. Although their children are not allowed screen time, their lives are extensively showcased on social media. While Hannah promotes a simple stay-at-home mom image, she earns substantial income from it and mainly highlights the positive aspects, reports US Weekly.
