A startup founder recently sparked a debate online, saying that she preferred the city of Hyderabad over Mumbai and Bengaluru. Shweta Kukreja, the founder of The Marketing Anatomy, shared her views on the city’s underrated status, shedding light on reasons why it was better than other metros cities. Minimal traffic and the convenience of the Outer Ring Road to reach the airport on time, according to Kukreja, made Hyderabad better than other cities.
In her X post, Kukreja further praised Hyderabad’s greenery and aesthetic appeal, claiming it deserved more recognition. Soon after her post went viral, it garnered mixed reactions from social media, as some expressed concerns about overhyping the city, which will lead to overpopulation.
On X, Kukreja wrote, “Lived in Hyderabad for a year and I would any day choose Hyderabad over Bangalore and Mumbai. This city is so underrated, in terms of everything. Less traffic (comparatively), ORR Road for the airport (bestest), Greenery (literally everywhere), Aesthetics (unreal), Food. Need to hype this city up.”

After her post went viral with over 7 Lakh views, in the comments section, some supported her perspective, while the majority expressed dissatisfaction, due to the bad weather conditions and pollution in Hyderabad.
A user warned against hyping Hyderabad to prevent it from becoming overcrowded like Bengaluru or Mumbai.
Please do not hype it up. Do not want it to turn into the next bengaluru or mumbai — Killer Trader (@KillerTrader_) April 7, 2024
Another claimed that Hyderabad is hotter compared to Bengaluru and Mumbai, but observed that similar heat waves were now affecting Bengaluru as well, adding Mumbai’s humidity gets uncomfortable during daytime.
Always felt Hyderabad little hotter compared to Bengaluru but looks like now even bengaluru is suffering from heat wave….Mumbai have that sticky heat unbearable at day time …— Vineet Joshi (@BonafideVJ) April 7, 2024
An individual, who has lived in Hyderabad for nearly two years, is satisfied with the city and confirmed that it was the best place to live.
Going to complete almost 2 Years in Hyd and I confirm this. It’s the best city to live in.— Kushal Vijay (@KushalVijay_) April 7, 2024
Another reminisced about Bengaluru’s beauty, mentioning that it had less traffic, greenery and pleasant weather. However, due to the impact of migration from the North, the quality of life has deteriorated.
Even Bengaluru was so beautiful. Less traffic, greenery literally everywhere, cool weather what not. Now due to this massive migration from the North, we locals are suffering, requesting all migrants to develop their respective states n move back. We as country can grow together.— Skaar (@Skaar_12) April 7, 2024
In response to a query regarding safety Kukreja stated that Hyderabad was a safe city. She shared her personal experience and mentioned that she had been out until late 2-3 am and felt safe. However, she also pointed out that safety might depend on where you are or stay in the city.
Previously, Udit Goenka, the Founder and CEO of Little SaaS, initiated a new conversation by claiming that Gurugram is better than Bengaluru as a startup destination. He argues that the northern city provides a more encouraging environment, affordability, pleasant climate and friendly community for businesses.
If you are building a “tech” company…Gurgaon is the place to be and not Bangalore!– Good talent is more affordable– Huge buyer’s market– No bubble and humble people– Decent weather except summers (manageable since you will be inside AC rooms)– Super affordable…

Similar to Shweta Kukreja, Udit Goenka’s post also received mixed reactions and garnered over 2 Lakh views.
