On July 4, Mumbai turned into a cricket carnival. A massive crowd gathered to welcome Team India and celebrate their T20 World Cup victory. Led by captain Rohit Sharma, the players embarked on an open bus ride along Marine Drive, where throngs of fans gathered to catch a glimpse of their heroes and cheer them on.
The festivities continued at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, where the team danced and savoured the moment at the venue where India clinched the ODI World Cup in 2011. Coach Rahul Dravid and players such as Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli enthusiastically interacted with the crowd. Amidst this celebration, a captivating photo of the team bus surrounded by jubilant fans has gone viral, encapsulating the indomitable spirit of Mumbai.
Before their grand welcome in Mumbai, the Men in Blue arrived in Delhi, where they met Prime Minister Narendra Modi after returning from Barbados. Following this, the team flew to Mumbai for their scheduled Victory Parade. IPL team, Mumbai Indians’ (MI) official X page, shared a unique aerial view of the parade, featuring a sea of fans wearing blue jerseys, flooding the iconic Queen’s Necklace and creating a surreal and unforgettable moment. Social media users were in awe seeing the crowd’s enthusiasm and sharing the picture, MI wrote, “This right here is the spirit of Mumbai.”
