Seated in the bed of a truck, the little girl was unaware of what was going to unfold. She was trying to feed the towering giraffe when things took a shocking turn.
Paisley was holding a food bag in her hand. The giraffe’s quest for the snack prompted it to inadvertently grab the baby’s shirt, resulting in a moment where the giant animal lifted her into the air. However, the brief moment ended with the giraffe immediately releasing her into her mother’s arms. Fortunately, Paisley was unharmed after the unexpected encounter.
The video was shared by an Instagram handle @expressnews with the caption, “Jason and Sierra Toten brought their 2-year-old daughter Paisley to the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in Glen Rose, which offers a drive-thru safari where guests can interact with dozens of species face-to-face.” It further suggests, “A Texas wildlife centre has changed its visiting policies after a giraffe snagged a toddler and lifted her into the air.”
Soon after the footage circulated online, one of the users, seemingly shocked, questioned, “Toddler riding in an open pickup bed?? Seriously??” An individual added, “Giraffe said, ‘Hold your kid before I hold her for you’”.
As the incident spread like wildfire, a spokesperson for the Wildlife Center was quoted by Spectrum News as saying, “Although an incident like this has never occurred here previously, we are taking immediate action to make sure it won’t happen again.”
