Man’s Fundraising Effort For His Barber’s New Phone Results In A Delightful Twist
After a Ghaziabad-based barber’s phone was stolen, a kind customer decided to step in by starting a fundraiser on Milaap.

Sonu, a barber from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, faced a challenging situation when his phone was stolen. To support him, a generous customer launched a fundraiser on Milaap to collect Rs 15,000. To facilitate donations, the customer created a T-shirt with a QR code leading directly to the donation page. He praised Sonu for his respectful and kind demeanour, highlighting the barber’s heart of gold. The customer, who also enjoyed Sonu’s playlist, promised to download every song he liked once Sonu had a new phone. In a heartwarming turn of events, the makers of the Nothing Phone learned about Sonu’s story and decided to surprise him with a special gift.

The story began when an X user spotted Sonu’s client wearing a T-shirt with a QR code for the fundraiser and wrote, “Spotted this guy in CP today (the QR code opens a fundraiser for his barber).” As per the page, the description reads, “My Barber’s phone got stolen, help me gift him a new one. Someone stole my barber’s phone which got him upset. He’s a kind soul who never talks to anyone rudely. He listens to everyone’s problems without judgment. I really want to make him smile again. Hence I’m raising this fund to gift him a new phone. From Kumar Sanu to Honey Singh, his playlist was pure gold and I will download all his fav songs to his new phone. PS – People also call him Ghaziabad ka Aalim Hakim.”

Soon after the post circulated online, Akis Evangelidis, the Co-Founder and Head of Marketing for Nothing, replied, “Jugaad, gotta respect my man for looking after his barber. Let’s find this guy and give him a phone.”

Following Evangelidis’ request, the phone company were quick to locate Sonu and surprised him with a brand new Nothing Phone 1, worth Rs 30,000. Sharing the picture of the barber with his new device, the brand wrote, “I’m not crying, you are. Here’s Sonu with his new phone.”

Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “I think my barber might be ready with this tweet’s screenshot next time I visit him.”

Another shared, “Sonu Bhai listening to ‘Tere jaisa yaar kahaan’ on his new phone right now.”

“Things like these make you fall in love with the internet every day,” a comment read.

An individual shared, “When boys say they are loyal to their barber, they mean this.”

One more added, “Men scroll, Men see, Men happy.”

Nothing India’s inspiring act garnered 2 lakh views on X.
