One of the biggest challenges when it comes to losing weight is associated with PCOD (Polycystic Ovary Disease), which acts as a major contributor to obesity. While it takes a lot of effort and time to lose PCOD-related and postpartum weight, a Delhi Police sub-inspector overcame the daunting challenge and ended up shedding extra kilos that she had gained during pregnancy. Speaking to the Hindustan Times, the woman named Bhagyashri Dayma shared her weight loss journey and her struggle with maintaining her physical fitness due to her profession.
Bhagyashri Dayma weighed around 90 kg at the time of her delivery and struggled for a long time to shed the extra kilos. During this time, she even tried shortcuts like weight-loss pills, supplements and intermittent fasting, but all in vain. It was then that she consulted with a dietician and she lost 15 kg in less than three months.
“I put on a lot of weight. There was a time when I stopped looking myself into the mirror,” she shared, further revealing that she couldn’t lift her own child and became dependent on her in-laws for basic necessities. However, determined to return to track, Dayma started maintaining a balanced diet and avoided junk, sugar and packaged food. Also, she drank a lot of water and walked 10,000 steps daily.
With her dedicated regime and the support of her in-laws, Dayma saw transformative results like improved menstrual cycle, reduced facial hair, high energy levels and glowing skin. “For postpartum mothers, keep a dietician for three months, and then you’ll get to know the drill,” she told the outlet.
Currently posted at the Wazirabad Police Station in North Delhi, Dayma also shared how she makes sure to eat only homemade food, salad and fruits during duty.
Well, this is not the only story that will inspire you to take your health seriously. IPS Vivek Raj Singh Kukrele’s weight loss journey also reinforces the importance of a healthy diet and mindful eating. From weighing 88 kg in Class 9 to 134 kg while joining the National Police Academy, Kukrele went through rigorous training at the NPA to shed extra weight.

“Walking became part of life, and I started reducing weight. Gradual weight reduction made me start strength training and mindful eating, which further boosted weight reduction. Last few months, I started a quantified diet, which is helping me tone my body and get better shape. I have reduced my weight to 43 kg, and I just want to maintain a better body shape,” he said.
