Internet is back with another heartwarming moment that has deeply moved many. The pictures captured a poignant moment in which the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans stepped in to perform the wedding rituals for the daughter of a slain soldier. The heart-touching gesture of the CRPF jawans won several hearts, evoking a myriad of emotions among the netizens.

The late CRPF Constable Rakesh Kumar Meena, belonging to the 168 Battalion of the force, was martyred while valiantly fighting Naxals in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur on May 8, 2010. His daughter, Sarika Meena, recently entered the marital bliss. The wedding took place in Rajasthan’s Alwar. The photos from the wedding recently surfaced on the Internet by a page that goes by the name Indian Military Updates. Soon after being uploaded, the pictures went viral on social media.

In the pictures, we can see the CRPF jawans dressed in their uniform as they held a bridal veil while moving towards the stage. Not only this, they also performed the Kanyadaan for the bride. For those unversed, Kanyadaan symbolises the solemn act of giving away the bride.

Attached to the touching glimpses of the wedding ceremony was a caption encapsulating its essence. The caption read, “CRPF Personnel Attended The Wedding Ceremony Of Sarika Meena, Daughter Of Shaheed CRPF Constable Rakesh Kumar Meena, At His Residence In Dubi Village, Alwar District, Rajasthan. CRPF Constable Rakesh Kumar Meena Of 168 Bn Made Supreme Sacrifice While Valiantly Fighting Naxals In Bijapur District, Chhattisgarh On 8th May 2010.”

Meanwhile, the pictures stirred a wave of emotions among Internet users as one of them expressed, “Wow…and see the confident eyes of bride. Superb.” Another remarked, “Protection at best”. “Brothers from another mother”. “You may leave Indian armed forces but they will not leave u alone,” noted one of the individuals.

It is not the first time that the CRPF jawans stood in solidarity with the family of their deceased comrade. Earlier, a similar incident made headlines in December 2021. The CRPF officers turned brothers for a bride who was the daughter of their slain colleague Constable Shailendra Pratap Singh. He had lost his life during a fight with terrorists in Kashmir’s Pulwama.
