The relationship between humans and animals is quite special and magical. The bonding has both a mental and emotional impact on them, as their relationship is often intertwined with empathy and compassion, and they exhibit these traits in remarkable ways. In one such display of affection, a bus driver recently greeted a wild elephant in a very affectionate way by calling him ‘Anna’ (big brother). Shared on the X platform (Formerly Twitter) by IAS officer Supriya Sahu, the video shows the heartwarming incident, captured at the Karapallam check post near the Tamil Nadu-Karnataka border within the Punjanur Range of the BRT Tiger Reserve.

As the video plays, the bus can be seen approaching the checkpoint, only to have an unexpected encounter with the wild animal. As the bus moved forward, an elephant emerged from the roadside. Quickly alerted by the situation, the driver not only halted the bus but also managed to keep the passengers calm. As soon as the animal came into close proximity, the driver maintained his composure and kept communicating.

Finally, as the animal passed by, the driver, dubbed ‘Mr Cool’ by the IAS officer, gave him a heartwarming farewell by addressing him as ‘Anna’. “Bye Anna, Tata Bye,” the driver can be heard saying.
