Flash floods have been creating havoc around the world. From Afghanistan to Oman to Argentina, several countries are engulfed in high water levels on streets leading to deaths and habitat loss. Vijayawada floods in India are also garnering the front-page headlines in Andhra Pradesh. In such a situation, there have been many casualties reported including deaths and destruction of crops. One video from India is now going viral, displaying a calm and gutsy approach of a couple to spend time while being stuck in the flood. They do nothing but spend quality time above the roof of a submerged car as they wait for the rescue operation team. Netizens called them the Jack and Rose (Titanic) of the parallel universe, in which they both try to survive by sitting on the roof of the car.
In a viral video on Instagram, a woman and a man are sitting on the roof of a car almost completely submerged in flood water. They are both sitting comfortably in the middle of a fast-flowing stream. The woman is sitting calmly and in between she is seen waving her hand to someone far away. The man is seen using a mobile phone as he tries to call someone for help. Initially, thought to be a normal flash flood, the severity of the scene was noted to be high as the camera zoomed out. The couple were stranded in the middle of the road with no houses or buildings in the vicinity. Netizens also called them mother-son, as per the age difference between the couple.
Their calm approach to the danger of flood has surprised the netizens. This video is shared on Instagram and has received 28 lakh views in just 9 hours. One of the netizens signified the importance of trusting in god and wrote, “Trust God that everything will be fine.” Another one said, “When you accept, there is no fear left.” The calm approach of the couple prompted the netizens to think that it was like a daily routine.
