'Come Back to India': Memes Fly After Saurabh Netravalkar Takes Kohli, Rohit's Wicket in IND vs USA
IND vs USA: Memes galore after Saurabh Netravalkar removes Virat Kohli for his first-ever golden duck in T20 World Cup.

Who hasn’t heard of Saurabh Netravalkar? The spotlight on the India-born US cricketer has only grown brighter after his sensational performance against India at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York, on Wednesday. In a thrilling twist, Netravalkar sent India’s star batters, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, back to the pavilion within the first two overs, leaving the cricketing world in awe.

Netravalkar, a software engineer by profession and a cricketer by passion, has been in spectacular form throughout the T20 World Cup. His fine run continued against India, where he dismissed two of their most formidable players with remarkable ease. Kohli, attempting a drive through the covers, edged the ball to wicketkeeper Andries Gous, much to the dismay of fans and his teammate, Rohit Sharma, who watched in disbelief from the other end.

The drama didn’t end there! Just a couple of overs later, Sharma too succumbed to Netravalkar’s skillful bowling. His thick outside edge soared high, only to be caught inside the circle by Harmeet Singh, dismissing the Indian captain for a mere 3 runs. This double blow sent shockwaves through the Indian cricket community, sparking a frenzy of memes celebrating the unexpected twist — an Indian-origin bowler causing trouble for the Indian team!

The meme-scape flourished, reminiscing Netravalkar’s journey from representing India at the U19 level and in domestic cricket, to his relocation to the USA where he reignited his passion for the game.

To add to that, his stunning performance was all the more poignant given his pre-match statement about looking forward to bowling to Kohli and Sharma.

Meanwhile, for the match, despite Netravalkar’s heroics, India managed to qualify for the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup after a hard-fought 7-wicket win over co-hosts USA in the Group A clash. While the match saw the experienced duo of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma fall early, Shivam Dube and Suryakumar Yadav’s composed partnership of 72 runs ensured India’s unbeaten run in the tournament continued.
