The ones with a little luck on their side get a chance to keep amethyst, garnet, calcite, peridot, and more.

Imagine visiting a park only to find carats of diamonds for yourself! One such place exists in reality in southwest Arkansas (USA), where there is a park named Diamonds State. People often visit the place to try their luck. Records suggest that the crater is the country’s only active diamond mine, which people are allowed to visit after paying a modest fee. If this is not enough, people can also dig and keep the diamonds they find. It can be said that the park is a door to your dream, where you can find this precious and costly gem. Diamonds are the most desired gems. This makes for a reason why the mine is immensely popular in the world. Interestingly, the crater is not only a diamond mine, as many other gems are also found here. As per the records, around 40 different minerals are found in the crater. The ones with a little luck on their side get a chance to keep amethyst, garnet, calcite, peridot, and more.

As per the reports, the crater was thrown open to the public in 1972 as part of the 911-acre state park. Ever since its opening, more than 35,000 of the gems have been uncovered. It attracts more than 1 lakh visitors every year. The diamonds were found millions of years ago in the crater.

It needs to be noted that a few gems found here have gained popularity over the years. Some of these gems are the 40.23-carat Uncle Sam (1924), and the 34.25-carat Star of Murfreesboro (1964). Interestingly, these are the two largest diamonds that have ever been found in North America. Apart from these two, there is also a 15.33-carat Star of Arkansas (1956), among others.

There are a few tricks to enhance the chances of digging diamonds here for yourself. Simply walking the furrows and a little attention to the same can get you numerous gems. In addition to that, the land is ploughed once a month which makes it highly likely that you will be able to find gems lying on the ground.
