Wimbledon 2019 Semi-finals Highlights – Nadal vs Federer, Djokovic vs Agut: Roger Federer beats Rafael Nadal 7-6(3), 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the Wimbledon 2019 semi-final, to set up a title clash with defending champion Novak Djokovic. Federer pulled off some brilliant service games and unsettled Nadal to take control from the off. Rafael Nadal faought back take the second set 6-1 and level the match at 1-1. Federer’s level completely dropped in the second set and Nadal took full advantage of that. Roger Federer had taken the first set 7-6(3) at Centre Court. Both the players hardly gave anything to each other in their service games before the tiebreak made it edgy. Nadal broke Federer twice in the tiebreak but could not hold on to the advantage while when Federer got the mini-break, he raced away and took the set.
Earlier, Novak Djokovic beats Roberto Bautista Agut 6-2, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 to reach a sixth final at All England Club. He has equalled Boris Becker, Jimmy Connors and Rod Laver in the fifth place on the all-time list of most men’s singles Wimbledon final. The fourth set completely belonged to the world No.1 as Agut failed to keep up with Djokovic.
Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are set to recreate another Wimbledon in the second semi-final. Federer is looking to win a ninth title at the All England Club while Nadal aims for his third. 11 years after their epic Wimbledon 2008 final where Nadal had dethroned the grass king Federer to win his only title at the All England Club, the two friends will recreate their long-standing rivalry on the Centre Court. Back then, it took four hours and 48 minutes for Nadal to come out triumphant against Nadal in five epic sets. If not the two, the excited tennis audience will be hoping for another epic chapter in this tennis-defining rivalry.
Novak Djokovic marched towards the win after took the third set vs Roberto Bautista Agut to take a 2-1 lead in the Wimbledon 2019 semi-final on Centre Court. Djokovic had been far from his best but found a way through. Djokovic was pumped after having fought through that set and let out a roar in celebration.

Bautista Agut took the second set 6-4 to level the semi-final against Djokovic at 1-1. Bautista Agut had to serve the set out and he did it with utmost calm despite pressure from the world No.1. The world No.1 looks frustrated at the moment. Djokovic had taken the first set against Bautista Agut in their Wimbledon 2019 gentlemen’s singles semi-final on Centre Court. Bautista Agut’s nerves of the Grand Slam semi-final showed early on as Djokovic stamped his authority. With Djokovic on attack and Bautista Agut on the backfoot, the world No.1 broke the Spaniard twice to take the first set 6-2.
Novak Djokovic vs Bautista Agut was a bit of a mismatch – a match that was not on the cards. Early upsets and some fighting performance from the Spaniard means his bachelor party had been postponed, or rather shifted to the tennis court. Bautista Agut revealed after his quarter-final win that this weekend he was supposed to have his bachelor party. Instead, he faced the world No.1 on the Centre Court while all his friends came to watch him play. Perhaps, now he will return to the wedding celebrations.
For Djokovic, this is a big chance to get even closer to Nadal and Federer’s Grand Slam titles records. For the second straight Wimbledon, he has reached the final and will look to defend the crown that he sensationally won last year.
On Thursday, Simona Halep and Serena Williams set up a blockbuster women’s singles final after registering thumping wins in their respective semi-finals. While Halep thrashed Elina Svitolina 6-1, 6-3, Serena made short work of Barbora Strycova 6-1, 6-2.
