Realme, during its even said that the Realme 8 series will be announced "very soon."

Chinese smartphone maker Realme yesterday held a virtual event, where the company detailed its camera innovation, going ahead from the Realme 8 series. Realme, during the event, announced that the Realme 8 Pro will come with a 108-megapixel Samsung HM2 primary camera sensor – the same one used in Xiaomi’s Mi 10i. Apart from the 108-megapixel shooter, Realme said that the Realme 8 Pro will also feature an in-sensor zoom technology to offer 3x zoom claimed to be better than what users get from a traditional optical zoom lens.

Realme, during the event said that the presence of a 108-megapixel Samsung HM2 shooter will bring a well-balanced exposure and sharp details in both well-lit and dark environments. The Samsung lens the Realme plans to use on the Realme 8 Pro has 12,000 x 9,000 pixels of effective resolution and a large 1/1.52 inches sensor. The in-sensor zoom technology introduced by Realme uses a proprietary clarity enhancement algorithm to deliver enhanced zoomed images. The technology crops a 108-megapixel image into eight 12-megapixel sized. However, instead of simply cropping a large image, the sensor combines eight 12-megapixel photos in a row to increase their clarity while zooming in a certain area.

Apart from the 108-megapixel sensor and the in-lens zoom technology, Realme also announced an updated Starry Mode that works with time-lapse videos as well. The new mode is called Starry time-lapse video that uses photos captured in the Starry Mode to deliver better low-light shots in time-lapse. The feature takes 480 seconds to shoot 30 photos and generate a 1-second time-lapse video.

Realme also announced a new tilt-shift time-lapse video feature that will be made available on the Realme 8 series. This feature will allow capturing of both tilt-shift photos and 10x faster tilt-shift time-lapse videos. Users will also be given the option to adjust parameters such as the shape, angle, position, and the size of the bokeh effect when using the new tilt-shift mode.

While this is sufficient information in terms of camera, nothing else about the Realme 8 series is known at the moment. Realme, during its even said that the Realme 8 series will be announced “very soon.”
