New Delhi: OnePlus is all set to start selling its recent-unveiled OnePlus 2 smartphone in India. The phone that was announced late last month will be exclusively available on Amazon starting today.
"Starting at 4:00 PM (IST) today (August 11), the OnePlus 2 will go on sale on Amazon India, and fans with invites will be able to order by claiming their invite in their OnePlus account," says the company in a blog post.
The new flagship smartphone has been priced at Rs 22,999 ($329) for the 16 GB model and Rs 24,999 ($389) for the 64 GB variant. The 64 GB OnePlus 2 will be available for purchase with an invite in India starting August 11 for Rs 24,999 exclusively on Amazon, while the 16 GB OnePlus 2 with 3GB LPPDR4 RAM will be available later this year.
The OnePlus 2 sports a 5.5-inch full HD display with 1080p resolution and a contrast ratio of 1500:1, which simply means brighter, bolder colours. Under its hood is a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor combined with 4GB RAM.
The successor to the OnePlus One has an aluminum-magnesium alloy frame and jewellery-grade stainless steel that encases a full HD 5.5-inch IPS LCD In-Cell display.
It weighs 175 grams and its display is said to outperform in direct sunlight with 178 degrees of viewing angle. This dual-SIM device simultaneously supports two Nano SIM cards with 4G LTE capability.

As explained by the company, for the first month of launch, invites will follow two principles.
The company will prioritise its "early and most fervent supporters" - those who have helped us spread the word and grow OnePlus. This means, priority will be given, specifically, to fans who registered for the pop-up stores and fan meets, early forum members, early purchasers and the most active OnePlus One invite evangelists.
There is also an option for everyone. OnePlus says, there will be a variety of ways to get invites, like participating in contests or other promotions – but people, says the company, will receive the invites quickly. OnePLus advises peeople who are looking forward to an invite to stay tuned to the forums and social media or subscribe to their newsletter for more information about events.
And for those who just want to receive an invite when there is a stock. "We’ve also created the new reservation list. This list will move on a first come first serve basis, with a twist. Every day, we will evaluate our production and inventory situation to send out as many of these invites as possible. No hassles. Just put down your email address and wait for the invite to come," says OnePlus.
How to claim an invite
Once you receive an invite in your inbox or have a physical invite card ready, you need to follow the following steps:
- Navigate to oneplus.net/in or simply click on the link given in the invite email and login to your OnePlus account. If you haven’t registered yet, first create your account.
- Once logged in, click on "My OnePlus Account".
- Navigate to "My Invites" on the left side and click on "Claim New Invite".
- Enter your invite code and click "Claim".
