If you own a Nothing Phone 1, there’s good news for you, as the brand has announced that the stable version of Nothing OS 2.5.2, based on Android 14, is now rolling out for the Phone 1.
Nothing Phone 2 was already updated to the same a while ago, and now the same has arrived for the Phone 1 as well. The update brings a slew of changes and quality-of-life upgrades over the current version and even introduces new features that allow you to customise your device with new gestures, and more.
Nothing states that this is a staged rollout—meaning “not all users will receive the update simultaneously.”
Based on the changelog for Nothing OS 2.5.2 that is rolling out for the Phone 1, the brand has introduced the following changes:
Now you get an all-inclusive Home Screen and Lock Screen customisation page. Plus, you now get a new ‘Atmosphere wallpaper effect’ to allow for interesting-looking transitions. Also, you get the option to choose solid colour wallpapers and a new monochrome theme.
In addition, users can now get direct access to the Glyph interface’s Music Visualization feature, with Nothing also promising an overall improvement in light playback when in sync with your device audio.
Coming to Gestures, Nothing says that you can customize the double-press power button to quickly access a feature. You can do this by heading to Settings > System > Gestures. Plus, you also get a new three-finger gesture to quickly take a screenshot, and even a new screenshot editor with a more robust set of settings.
More Notable Updates
Apart from the aforementioned updates, Nothing OS 2.5.2 also brings a new updated weather app, the ability to set ringtone and notification audio separately, better and more stable camera, improved battery life, and a new mix of widgets. You now get Pedometer, Media player, and Screen time widgets as well.
