New Delhi: As soon as the word went out about BlackBerry’s first Android device, numerous speculations followed. With early renders of the purported device, dubbed BlackBerry Venice, the rumours were strengthened, courtesy popular tipster @evleaks and a leaked footage of the company’s own event where the device was showed off.
Now, actual images of the device have surfaced on Tinhte website showing off the slider smartphone. The images show the device with a curved glass front display that slides up to reveal the hardware keyboard.
The rear camera is 18 megapixel with OIS, fast focus, and dual LED flash. The SIM and microSD card slots rest on the top and a power button on the left. The volume rockers are placed on the right.
Akin to BlackBerry Passport, the battery in the new BlackBerry Venice doesn’t seem removable. Although the device is powered by Android, the images reiterate that BlackBerry Hub is also installed.
While we can safely believe that a BlackBerry slider smartphone that runs on Android exists, we will have to wait till November when the company is expected to formally launch the device.
