New Delhi: Microsoft is all set to bring its Surface Pro 4 tablet to India on January 7. This launch was first announced by CEO Satya Nadella in November 2015. This is the first time that a Microsoft Surface tablet will be officially available in the Indian market.
The new Surface Pro 4 tablet is a larger but thinner and lighter version of the Surface Pro 3. The tablet is priced in the US at $899, but there is no information yet on its pricing for the Indian market.
Launched nearly a year and a half after its predecessor, the Surface Pro 4 features a 12.3-inch screen. It runs on 6th-generation Intel Core processor and has 16GB of RAM and 1TBB storage.
Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 is said to be 50 per cent faster than Apple's MacBook Air, said Panos Panay, the corporate vice president for Surface Computing at Microsoft during the launch event.
The new tablet will come with Windows Hello, an automatic biometric sign-in option introduced lst year. The feature allows users to scan their face, iris or fingerprints to verify their identity and give them access to Windows phones, laptops and personal computers.
The Surface Pro 4 is the first Surface tablet to ship with Windows 10 already installed, though older models are able to get free upgrades.
