Major Apple Security Warning From Indian Govt For All Users: Here’s What You Need To Do
Apple iPhone, iPad, mac and more users have a got major security alert in India and it is urged that you follow its advice at the earliest.

Apple users have been alerted about a new security issue by the Indian government this week. The latest warning has been termed as high risk by the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) in its January 31 bulletin. The security agency says that Apple Watch, Apple TV, Macs, iPhone and iPad users are affected. This risk is capable of allowing attackers to access your devices remotely, which allows them to gather confidential data and steal information for ransom.

Apple Security Issue Affects These Devices

According to the latest CERT-In bulletin, users on the following software versions are affected:

– Apple macOS Monterey versions prior to 12.7.3

– Apple macOS Ventura versions prior to 13.6.4

– Apple watchOS versions prior to 10.3

– Apple iOS versions prior to 16.7 and iPadOS versions prior to 15.8.1

– Apple iOS versions prior to 17.0.1 and iPadOS versions prior to 16.7.5

– Apple Safari versions prior to 17.3

– Apple tvOS versions prior to 17.3

Apple Security Risk: How Are You Affected?

As noted by CERT-In, these security vulnerabilities exist in Apple products which could allow an attacker to access sensitive information, execute arbitrary code, and bypass security restrictions and gain elevated privileges on the targeted system.

Going by the details highlighted by the security agency, the latest Apple security risk affects a wide array of devices that go all the way back the iPhone 6 series, iPad Air 2 and even the iPod Touch 7th gen model. So, what does CERT-In advise these affected users to secure their data and other personal content from attackers?

You should update the Apple devices to the latest available updates as soon as possible. If your device is limited to a software version listed here, you should ideally consider switching to a more recent device for security reasons.
