iOS 17.4 beta has already shown us what iPhone users expect from the next update from Apple and it seems the feature list continues to swell with new additions each week. We have covered the subject multiple times already, but with new options coming to iPhone users next month, we decided to give you another preview of what’s to come with the new update.
The company is also lining up the big changes in IOS 17.4 that cater to the new EU rules, including the option to sideload apps on iPhone and other third-party system access.
iOS 17.4 Beta Features: What We Know
iOS 17.4 beta has already teased the world of sideloading apps on iPhone, and they also get the option to choose a default browser that hasn’t been available anywhere else for iPhone users. But there’s more in the pipeline for iPhone users and here are the new features being added that will be helpful to older iPhones as well.
Stolen Device Protection
As the name suggests, iPhone users can protect their device with a further level of security when it gets stolen or you lose it. Apple will activate a multi-layer biometric security using Face ID and other personal details so that your data is not stolen.
New Options For Vision Pro Headset
Apple has launched the new Vision Pro headset and some users will notice a new feature called ignore double tap for iPhone users with the new version.
Apple’s Battery Health Refresh
Apple is adding options in Battery health, giving iPhone users more detail about the condition of their battery and how long it will work before it needs to be replaced. Apple has added a new Battery menu in the settings where you can see if the health of the battery is normal or not.
CarPlay Upgrades
The iOS 17.4 update will make it easy for cars with dual-screen integration to use the driving-friendly feature.
Web Screen Apps From Home Screen Going Away
While iPhone users in Europe get some new features thanks to the new rules, they also lose access to web apps on the home screen after the iOS 17.4 update rolls out. The limitation is being forced because Apple has to allow third-party browser engines to work in the region.
iOS 17.4 update is expected to roll out in March which is just a few weeks away once the beta version has been cleaned of all the bugs to offer stable performance.
