End Of Nokia? Here’s What The Company Making Nokia Phones Has To Say
Nokia's Android phones have been selling in the market for many years but will that end from this year? Here's the answer.

One of the biggest headlines in the tech media this week was the reports about Nokia as a branding coming to an end. In fact, multiple reports said we won’t be seeing a Nokia-branded phone anymore in the market. HMD Global has the rights to make and sell Nokia Android phones across various markets and the company says it is now going to make its own HMD-branded phones for consumers. Does that mean it will stop selling Nokia phones?

HMD Global has officially denied those rumours and confirmed that Nokia phones will be available in the market and it will continue to make new Nokia phones in the near future. HMD Global explains the changes going around at the company which includes rebranding the Nokia Mobile website to HMD, one of the reasons why many people thought this is the end of the brand Nokia.

“I am sure you may have seen that at HMD, we are updating our channels from ‘Nokia Mobile’ to ‘HMD’. This change is more than just a new name – we’re introducing a fresh new multi-brand strategy,” HMD Global mentioned in its statement.

The company also assured that Nokia phones are not going anywhere, in fact, you will see more new Nokia phones later this year and further. “You will continue to see new Nokia phones. True to our values, HMD will continue to design more sustainable and affordable phones.”

The changes are most likely happening because HMD Global is finally spreading its wings beyond a brand licensee which allows the company to sell phones with its own brand name. Nokia has a big nostalgia value in the market but the next phase of growth of HMD will be a challenge as it looks to focus on two brands rather than one big entity.

HMD or Nokia, either way, the market has moved quite ahead and the company has changed its focus, and even there it needs a more proactive approach to succeed, which allows the brand Nokia to live for years to come.
