Apple has officially rolled out its latest desktop operating system MacOS Sierra as a free update. The newest OS now brings Siri to the Mac with had been previously limited to the iPhone and iPad platform.
The MacOS Sierra comes with added features like Universal Clipboard, iCloud Desktop and Documents, Auto Unlock and Apple Pay, allowing Mac to work better with other Apple devices.
The Photos feature has also been updated with the new Memories features (similar to the iOS 10) that automatically creates curated collections of favourite photos and videos.
The highlight of the new MacOS is the integration of Siri which assists in sending messages and email, finding documents, looking up information, searching a user’s photo library, adjusting system preferences, and more.

The Universal Clipboard allows users to copy content from an app on one Apple device and paste it onto another app on a different Apple device. This basically makes working on multiple Apple devices a smooth experience.
The iCloud Desktop and Documents feature now allows users to access files on their desktop from iPhone and iPad while the Auto Unlock lets users automatically log into their Mac when they are wearing an authenticated Apple Watch.
Apple's payment feature - Apple Pay - in the MacOS makes online shopping experience in Safari convenient and secure. One can simply choose Apple Pay while shopping online and then complete their purchase with Touch ID on iPhone 6 or later or with Apple Watch.
MacOS Sierra also comes with an overhauled Messages that now allows web link previews, video clip playing, bigger emojis and more. The Tabs are now available across Mac apps that support multiple windows, including Maps, Mail, Pages, Numbers, Keynote, TextEdit, and even third-party apps.
Mac users can now watch video while they work by resizing and pinning the video from Safari or iTunes over the desktop using Picture in Picture. The Optimised Storage now frees up space when a Mac starts getting full by storing infrequently used items in the cloud and helping users remove apps and files they no longer need.
The MacOS Sierra is available as a free update starting today from the Mac App Store. It supports all Macs introduced since late 2009.
