Malayalam cinema has a knack for making movies on real-life incidents, and one of its latest offerings, Secret Home is no different. The poster, which was released last month, states that the movie is a crime drama based on a true incident that happened in Kerala. Now, the teaser of Secret House has been released and it promises a dark and gritty tale.
The main actors in the movie are Chandunadh, Aparna Das, Sshivada, and Anu Mohan. The movie tracks the lives of these four characters as they become involved in a crime involving a secret mansion. Aparna Das and two other characters are shown entering the home at the beginning of the teaser, which could be a crime scene with sinister mysteries associated with it.
Secret Home is the maiden directorial venture by Abhayakumar K. In the past, Abhayakumar and Anil Kurian co-wrote scripts for films such as Punyalan Agarbattis, Chathur Mukham, Priyan Ottathilanu, and Kunjamminis Hospital. This is the first movie in which Anil wrote the screenplay all by himself.
Santhosh Thrivikraman is the film’s producer, while WOW Cinemas is handling distribution. On the technical front, Ajay David Kachappilly handled photography, Rajesh Rajendran edited the film, and Shankar Sharma wrote the original soundtrack and music. Abhayakumar disclosed in an interview that the film will touch on a few topics that people in our society would be reluctant to bring up. He continued by saying that it will draw attention to some painful realities and the less attractive sides of people.
“The protagonists of most films are typically good or kindhearted individuals. Each of the four main characters in my film has a darker side, as explored in the film," the actor stated. Abhayakumar also expressed his gratitude to the film’s artists for their commitment to taking on this project.
