Pruthvi Ambaar, known for his role in Dia, is back with a new romantic drama titled Juni, hitting theatres on February 9th. This time, he trades in dramatic roles for a spatula, playing the charming character of a chef. Directed by Vibhav Mahadev, Juni promises to be a heartwarming journey of love, laughter, and maybe even a few delicious dishes.
Vaibhav Madhav, known for his work on a short film, makes his directorial debut in a feature film with Juni. A graduate of the Prague Film School, Vaibhav not only directed but also wrote the film, in addition to choreographing the action sequences. Produced by Mohan Kumar’s Trishul Creation and Shreyas VS, Juni features Rishika Nayak alongside Pruthvi.
Shot in Bengaluru, Juni boasts a musical score by Nakul Abhyankar, cinematography by Ajin B and Jithin Das, and art direction by Navin.
Pruthvi, who marked his Hindi and Marathi film debuts with Dia remakes last year, has an intriguing lineup of Kannada films. This includes Bhuvanam Gaganam with Pramod and Rachel David, For Regn with Milana Nagaraj, Life is Beautiful with Priyanka Upendra and Lasya Nagaraj, and Matsyagandha with Gopalkrishna Deshpande. In a previous interview, Pruthvi mentioned the growing interest from filmmakers after the OTT success of Dia. However, he emphasised his goal of choosing diverse roles to avoid being typecast in the typical lover boy role.
Pruthvi remains unsatisfied with the current number of films on hand, as he eagerly anticipates creating a commercially successful project to secure a lasting acting career. Presently, getting his films into theatres is a challenge, with distributors and exhibitors assessing the market appeal of the lead actor. Pruthvi emphasises that a single hit film could transform his career, allowing him to pursue the desired films and roles. However, if success continues to evade him, he fears limitations in exploring the projects he aspires to undertake.
